Watchtower Changes. Why
by new hope and happiness infollowing on from a recent post that asked for a list of the watchtower changers since you left, it would be intetesting to compile the list with why the changes were made.. .

Keep them confused and interested.
Most JWs I talk to, don't know what they believe.
My mother has said, "Oh, I guess the Witnesses believe..."
I guess...

My Judicial Meeting was 6 WEEKS ago! Help me with a question.
by Comatose inmy judicial meeting was 6 weeks or more ago, and still no action.
i used a lawyer and a letter to them after i had already met with them and admitted everything.
the crazy part was they didn't tell me that night if i was df or not.

Safe from DFing and my parents, siblings, and all other extended family shunning me.
Based on my personal experience, your family is going to do what they want to do in this situation. Even if they are not instructed to DF you, their conscience could still cause them to stop associating with you.
(Me: Never a JW, but my sister has declared she will "no longer communicate" with me. I didn't get a hearing).

We watched a sort of "slow burn" horor movie/pyschological thriller last night:
"We Are What We Are"
It is about a quiet family who lives in the woods, and once a year they fast for a few days, then kidnap and eat a person. It is tradition, and the father has some weird religious fantasies. The ending really did come as a shock.
We watched the "Interviews" with the director, and he mentioned high-control or strange religions and groups, traditions that we just accept (like the odd things people do at Christmas, without knowing why...) Kinda stuck me as appropriate.

My kids both learned to read at 4 years old, without the aid of Watchtower publications. Everyone's brain develops differently. Are they receiving less of an education, without reading the WT magazines? YES! Their education is inferior, by JW standards.
IQ and academic tendencies will vary, inside and outside the organization. Simply focusing all of your energy and time on learning one specific skill, will limit you in other areas of your development. Take a genius and indoctrinate him into the society, and he will just be a well-spoken robot... which is the goal of the "education" you receive in the ministry school.
All JW's are studying at Watchtower U, and all study the same subject: Field Service.
All true servants of Jehovah ('s organization) share the same goals: Serve the Organization & Vindicate Jehovah's Name.
Their "education" level is measured and recognized by their degree earned at WTU: Publisher, Pioneer, Ministerial Servant, Overseer, etc...
Intelligence and education are not the same thing. There are many intelligent people being manipulated by this high-control society. They believe what they say about themselves. Since their goals are to serve the society and earn Degrees in Service, they are correct. Their education is far more valuable than any college degree.
If you are going to measure by worldly standards, you will come to a different conclusion.
Truth is relative to the situation.
Once programmed sufficiently, after years of schooling at WTU, I think most JWs who actually pay attention in class are going to sound educated to those who are still sitting there listening to them talk.

No more circuit assemblies
by justmeok ini heard from a reliable source that there will be no more 2 day assemblies, but instead 2 one days each year.
anyone heard this yet?
supposed to start new service year.
-
Faithful Witness
They don't want people wasting money on hotels and restaurants.
Send your money to the society, and we will decide how to spend it for Kingdom purposes.
The Kool-aid at the assemblies will be available for a donation of $2.00. Please bring your own cups.

I noticed this in a previous publication but did not take the time to compare and lay it out in such detail. Thanks for the effort, and good catch!
I'm sure they are going to keep pushing the JWs to switch to digital readers, so they can make edits to their publications at will. They will instruct the friends to make sure and download the latest version for this Sunday's meeting, as some clarifications have been made...
And not a single JW will even blink, when told that the magazines are being edited. They will be thankful for it.
